Joined Indian Forest Service in the year 1988 (IFS 1988 batch). Borne on Bihar cadre. Worked as Divisional Forest Officer and Conservator of Forests in various Territorial and Wildlife Divisions/Circle in the erstwhile state of Jharkhand. Also worked as Director, Forestry Training College, Ranchi, Jharkhand and was also posted as Forest Research Officer, Jharkhand.

After the bifurcation of the state of Bihar in the year 2000, worked as Conservator of Forests, Muzaffarpur Circle, Bihar. Also worked on State Govt. Deputation as Director, Primary Education, Bihar Govt. Also worked as Managing Director, Bihar Textbook Development Corporation and also as Additional Project Director, Bihar Education Project, Govt. of Bihar. Before joining FSI on deputation was posted as Chief Conservator of Forests, HRD & Administration, Department of Environment and Forest, Govt. of Bihar. Presently promoted to the post of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests by Govt. Of Bihar in December-2017.
