A two-week orientation training for 13 recently joined Technical Associates was held from 19th to 30th December 2022 at FSI headquarters. The objective of the training was to sensitize the new technical staff about various ongoing and completed projects of the organization and about various methodologies followed in the projects of FSI. The training course comprised of topics like Activities of FSI, Fundamentals of Remote Sensing, Forest Cover Mapping, FSI Forest Fire Alert System (FAST) and Van Agni geoportal, completed and ongoing projects of FSI, Estimation of Biomass using SAR Data, Decision Support System and e-Greenwatch, field visit for hands-on experience on ground truthing, etc. At the outset, Smt Meera Iyer, IFS, Joint Director (I/c) addressed the trainees.

Deputy Directors Shri AK Saxena, Shri Sanjay Kumar Agarwal and Shri Sunil Chandra, Assistant Directors Shri AK Singh, Smt Savita Semwal and Shri Devi Singh, along with the technical team members conducted the various training sessions.The orientation programme not only helped the new recruits in understanding the organization better, but also familiarized them about the work culture and goals of the organization.
