On 2 October 2025 the Forest Survey of India office honored sanitation workers and gardeners on the occasion of Swachh Bharat Diwas and also marked the conclusion of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign which had been ongoing since September 17.
The Hindi fortnight Closing Ceremony was held at the Forest Survey of India Dehradun on 30 September 2025. A workshop on the official language was organized where Dr. M.R. Saklani former Deputy Director Official Language Income Tax Department delivered a lecture on the Official Language Policy Acts and Rules of the Government of India note-drafting and Translation. In continuation to this the 24th issue of the Annual Official Language Magazine Van Darpan was released by Senior Officials of the Office. Following this certificates were presented as prizes to the winners of various competitions held during the fortnight. Deputy Director General Mr. Prakash Lakhchaura Joint Director Ms. Shivani Dogra Deputy Director Mr. Mundhe Arvind Dattu and Deputy Director Mrs. Sugandha Srivastava were present on this occassion.

Dr. K. Chandramohan Deputy Ranger of Forest Survey of India has discovered 7 new plant species while carrying out National Forest Inventory work in the different parts of the Country. Dr. K. Chandramohan along with Shri Anoop Singh DG FSI and Shri Arvind Mundhe Deputy Director FSI.
As part of the nationwide campaign Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Sath on 25.9.2025 officers and staff of Forest Survey of India participated in Swachhata HI Sewa 2025 by cleaning and beautifying FSI Residential Colony.
Under the Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign a cleanliness rally was organized by the staff and officers of the Forest Survey of India Dehradun on 24th September 2025. During the rally plastic waste and litter were collected and removed from the Kaulagarh road and the office campus to promote awareness about cleanliness and environmental responsibility.

The Forest Survey of India Dehradun conducted a two-day module on RS-GIS and Related Technological Applications with reference to ISFR for IFS Officers from IGNFA on 2nd and 3rd September 2025. A total of 67 officers participated in the module.

Independence Day was celebrated with the spirit of patriotism on 15 August 2025 in the Forest Survey of India. Director General Shri Anoop Singh IFS hoisted the flag and all the people present honored the flag by singing the national anthem. The children of the FSI family gave various presentation on the occasion. In his Independence day speech DG FSI congratulated everyone of independence and self-dependence of the country and requested the present generation to be aware of the coming challenges. Finally the program concluded with the distribution of sweets.

On the occasion of World Environment Day a painting activity by children at the Forest Survey of India Dehradun.
The FSI Regional Office South Bengaluru celebrated World Environment Day 2025 themed Ending Plastic Pollution by taking pledge to avoid usage of plastic and later by cleaning of plastic in office. Awareness programs on ill effects of plastic on environment were held in two schools Mitra Academy Arekere and Government Highschool Puttenalli by making presentations and holding quiz competition for students. Campus cleaning in Residential Complex Doresanipallya by staff of FSI and RO MoEFCC was also organized where jute bags were distributed to all staff as an alternate to plastic bags.
The Regional Office Eastern Zone FSI Celebrate World Environment Day on 5th June 2025 at Salt Lake by cleaning of plastic in office and IB Block organizing three planting programme photography and poster making Competition etc. There was presentation on Plastic pollution for staff of FSI and MoEFCC . Cloth bags were distributed at local tea stalls.
Forest Survey of India Central Zone Nagpur has conducted World Environment Day 2025 programmes from 29.05.2025 to 05.06.2025 with theme Ending Plastic Pollution. Organised drawing competition amongst the school going students of the staff of FSI. Also organised a lecture on Plastic Pollution Challenges and Solutions in the light of Eco-alternatives to ban single used plastic. The Lecture was delivered by Dr. Vedprakash Asstt. Professor of Hindi National Sanskrit University Tirupati AP. Concluded the programs on 05.06.2025.

From 2 June to 5 June 2025 on the occasion of World Environment Day the Forest Survey of India organized various programs on the theme Ending Plastic Pollution including plastic waste cleaning in the office premises slogan writing competition childrens painting exhibition plastic waste cleanup at the tourist site Guchhupani Robbers Cave cycle rally tree plantation and lectures.
The Forest Survey of India Dehradun conducted a one-week training program for WPO/RFO officers of Madhya Pradesh state and Officers of Regional offices of FSI on Preparation of Working Plan Forest Resource Assessment using Remote Sensing-RS/Geographic Information System -GIS and Field Inventory Methods from 26th to 31st May 2025.
Forest Survey of India organized a two-day national workshop on 23rd and 24th May 2025 on Land Use Land Use Change and Forestry -LULUCF and the Greenhouse Gas -GHG Inventory in the context of Indias upcoming Biennial Transparency Report-2 BTR-2 Biennial Transparency Report-3 BTR-3 and Fourth National Communication FNC. During the workshop experts from MOEFCC IISC NRSC CSTEP BITS Goa NBSSLUP Wetlands International and FSI participated and deliberated on the challenges and improvement plan in the reporting process of India. The BTR-2 and BTR-3 are to be submitted to UNFCCC in 2026 and 2028 respectively. However the Fourth National Communication will be submitted in 2027. The deliberations have evolved a roadmap for systematic improvement in the GHG inventory of LULUCF sector.
On May 14 2025 in the presence of Shri Prakash Lakhchera Deputy Director General and Shri Munde Arvind Dattu Deputy Director Personnel and Administration five newly appointed Multi-Tasking Staff MTS were administered the oath of allegiance to the Constitution pledging sincerity honesty and impartiality at FSI office.

A workshop on Strengthening the Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting Component for Forest Landscape Restoration- FLR was organized on 29th and 30th April 2025 at Dehradun. The workshop brought together key institutions including GIZ IUCN and the Forest Survey of India for in-depth discussions on enhancing collaborative efforts in monitoring evaluating and reporting FLR progress in four pilot states in India.

Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor MoEFCC Sh. Pravir Pandey visited Forest Survey of India for discussion on budgetary processes of FSI and CASFOS Dehradun on 11.04.2025. During the meeting ASFA has reviewed the budget and revised budget estimate of the last five years and projection of budget estimate for next five years for both the institutions.

Shri. Neelesh Shah Joint Secretary MoEFCC visited Forest Survey of India on 2 April 2025 to discuss the carbon sink for NDC. A discussion was held for the submission of the revised target of NDC for the period 2030 to 2035.

75th Batch of Forest Guard 44 Trainees from Forest Training Institute Chail Himachal Pradesh visited FSI on 19.03.2025 with their faculty members. During their visit they were briefed about the Activities and functions of Forest Survey of India Dehradun.
A workshop was organized in the forenoon of 28th February 2025 at FSI on Implementation of the new Working Plan Code and the way forward under the chairmanship of Dr Devendra Pandey Retired IFS Former DG FSI. The other delegates present in the meeting were Shri M.P. Singh Retd IFS Shri Anoop Singh DG FSI Shri Rabi Kumar APCCF Jammu and Kashmir and other senior officers of FSI. In afternoon the workshop continued for discussion on Carbon Credits.
In celebration of International Womens Day on 8 March 2025 an event was organized at Forest Survey of India on 13 March 2025. On this occasion motivational speaker Professor Dr. Asha Rani Kapoor presented a motivational lecture for the women working in Forest Survey of India.
A class of B.Sc 69 student from College of Forestry Karanataka visited FSI on 12.03.2025 with faculty members. Students were given brief of activities of FSI.

A one-day workshop to discuss on forest fire issues of the Central India States was organized on 17th February 2025 at Telangana State Forest Academy Dulapally Ranga Reddy Hyderabad. The forest officers from the States of Andhra Pradesh Chhattisgarh Jharkhand Madhya Pradesh Maharashtra and Telangana participated in the workshop. Sh. Ratnakar Jauhari APCCF Telangana Forest Department chaired the workshop. The workshop was co-chaired by Sh. Manoj Kumar Agarwal APCCF Madhya Pradesh Forest Department and Sh. Sanjay Kumar Chauhan AIG MoEFCC. A part from forest fire related activities carried out by FSI followed by forest fire prevention management control issues and possible solution of each participating State was discussed in the workshop.

A part from forest fire related activities carried out by FSI followed by forest fire prevention management control issues and possible solution of each participating State was discussed in the workshop.
A class of B. Sc. Agriculture 118 students from SRM College of Agriculture Sciences Tamil Nadu visited FSI on 06.03.2025 with their faculty members. Students were given brief of the activities of Forest Survey of India.
B. Sc. Horticulture 43 students from SRM College of Agriculture Sciences Tamil Nadu visited FSI on 05.03.2025 with their faculty members. They were given brief of the activities of the organisation.
B. Sc. Agriculture 118 students from SRM College of Agriculture Sciences Tamil Nadu visited FSI on 28.02.2025. Activities of Forest Survey of India were briefed to them.
B. Sc. Forestry 32 Students from College of Forestry Thrissur Kerala visited FSI on 24.02.2025 with their faculty members. They were given brief about the activities of the organization.
One week training program on Preparation of Working Plan - Forest Resource Assessment using RS/GIS Field Inventory Methods- was conducted at FSI Dehradun from 10 Feb to 15 February 2025. Total 15 Participants from different states participated in this training program.
42 SFS Trainees from the Central Academy of Forest Services had an insightful visit to the Forest Survey of India on February 11 2025. They got the opportunity to learn about the various activities of the organization including forest mapping remote sensing applications and data analysis for sustainable forest management.
Three Days IFS Workshop held at FSI Dehradun from 03.02.2025 to 05.02.2025 on Need for Survey Demarcation of Forestlands Strategies for achieving the objectives. Total 18 IFS Officers Participated in the workshop.
Final-year B.Sc. Forestry students from Central Agricultural University College of Horticulture and Forestry Pasighat along with their faculty members visited the Forest Survey of India FSI. During their visit they were given valuable insights into the activities and functions of FSI enhancing their understanding of Forest Resource Assessment.
On 27th January 2025 Dr. Puneet Chaturvedi Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Ayurveda Jaipur presented a lecture on the topic Healing through Breathing at the Forest Survey of India. The lecture enriched the knowledge of all the members of the institution.
The 76th Republic Day was celebrated in the Forest Survey of India with a spirit of patriotism. The flag hoisting by Director General Shri Anoop Singh IFS was followed by the national anthem.
2024-26 Batch total 114 IFS probationers visited Forest Survey of India on January 22 2025 accompanied by Shri Rajkumar Bajpai Additional Director of IGNFA and Shri Kunal Angrish Associate Professor and Course Director. Shri Anoop Singh Director General of FSI delivered a presentation on the activities of FSI. Shri Prakash Lakhchura Deputy Director General briefed the probationers on the National Forest Inventory Carbon assessment and international reporting. Additionally Dr. Sunil Chandra provided insights about the Forest Fire Monitoring System.
Secretary Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change Shri Tanmay Kumar along with ADGF Shri Sushil Kumar Awasthi ASFA Shri Praveer Pandey and DIGF Ms. Surabhi Rai visited Forest Survey of India today on 9 January 2025. During this program they were informed about various activities of the office as well as given a tour of the FGD lab. At the end of the program secretary MoEFCC ADGF and DIGF planted a commemorative tree under the program Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.
The release of India State of Forest Report 2023 was done by the Honorable Minister of Environment Forest and Climate Change Shri Bhupendra Yadav ji on 21.12.2024 in the auditorium of FRI.

A Class of Forest Guard Trainees 75 Nos. from Forest Training Institute Rampurmandi Dehradun visited FSI on 4th October 2024 with their faculty members. The class was given the brief of the organizational activities.
